Whitwell Claims NDRL Opener

Exactly one year ago on January 11th, 2014, R.C. Whitwell etched his name into the history books by winning the now-defunct National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) season opener at USA Raceway (formerly known as Tucson International Raceway).

Although the NDRL, after experiencing their demise last summer, is no longer with us, R.C. Whitwell has not gone anywhere as he’s returned to Tucson again to compete in the Wild West Shootout. After failing to qualify for the main last evening, Whitwell will give it another go tonight as the 50+ car field will put on a show for $5,000.
